Our Community Votes London Story
Connections Music Therapy was first nominated for Community Votes London in 2021 in the âMusic Lessonsâ category. At the time, âMusic Lessonsâ was one category for all ages until âYouth Music Lessonsâ was introduced as its own category in 2023. Our community showed strong support for CMT, and in 2021, we were nominated #1 - Platinum for Music Lessons in London. This was quite the feat for our first year participating.
In 2022, CMT was nominated again for Londonâs best music lessons. Our community showed their passion for the work we do, leading to us maintaining our position as Londonâs Platinum choice for Music Lessons.
2023 introduced the division between âMusic Lessonsâ and âYouth Music Lessonsâ. Connections Music Therapy was nominated in both categories and was running against big competitors, including London Performing Arts Academy, who took the Platinum titles, while CMT finished with #2 - Gold for Youth Music Lessons, and #3 - Silver for Music Lessons.
The 2024 campaign saw CMT nominated for both âMusic Lessonsâ and âYouth Music Lessonsâ a second time. A call to action went out to our community of supporters who sang loud with their votes, allowing us to reclaim our Platinum standing for Music Lessons and jump up to #1 for Youth Music Lessons.
New for 2025, Connections Music Therapy was nominated in three additional categories, including: âTherapy and Counsellingâ, âMusic - Retail Storesâ, and âMusical Instrumentsâ. Therapy and Counselling was a larger category with significantly more nominees compared to the lessons categories weâve participated in before.
The results were calculated and we are thrilled to share that because of your votes, CMT received Platinum for Music Lessons, Youth Music Lessons, and Therapy and Counselling! đ
While we appreciate the strong backing from our community and the nominations for âMusic - Retail Storesâ and âMusical Instrumentsâ, Jess contacted Community Votes London to let them know the nominations werenât applicable, as CMT is not a retail store and does not sell instruments, and that those awards should go to businesses who work hard in those areas. CMT was removed from these categories and the awards were passed on to DDK Rock Apparel for Music for Music - Retail Stores and Long & McQuade for Music Instruments, both of which were very deserving winners.
To our loyal supporters, thank you for not only taking the time to vote, but for believing in our team and the work we do. We are very proud of the support we bring to the community and the individuals we get to enjoy music with every day. From the young kiddos in their early stages of life to the seniors who have seen an entire life, and everyone else who is somewhere in between along lifeâs journey, thank you for allowing us to join you on your path of health, wellness, and learning via the wonderful gift of music. We are incredibly grateful for your support and could not do it without you.
