Meet Jillian!
Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Jillian Chesney (she/her) has been part of the CMT team since 2024. While voice is her principle instrument, Jillian also plays the guitar, piano, and ukulele. She completed her Master’s of Music Therapy at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2024 after completing her Honours B.Sc degree in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour, with a Music Cognition Specialization from McMaster University in 2020.
Jillian completed her 1000 hour clinical music therapy internships working with residents at Spruce Lodge Long Term Care Home, and supporting individuals with mental illnesses at Thresholds Homes and Supports, and the Homewood Health Center. She is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and recently passed her Board exam through the Certification Board for Music Therapists, to obtain the title of Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).
Jillian grew up on a farm in rural Ontario and played hockey as a goalie. She enjoys singing, reading, and painting in her spare time. She is excited to be working with Connections Music Therapy’s clients and is dedicated to creating client-centred experiences that are enjoyable and fun.
